Frequently Asked Questions

What level of Bible knowledge do I need for Classroom?

Classroom is designed to be an accessible experience for people with varying levels of biblical knowledge. So whether you’re a beginning Bible nerd or a lifelong student of Scripture, Classroom will take your Bible study to the next level.

Classes focus on biblical theology and the literary design of Scripture. If you’re new to this method of studying the Bible, Introduction to the Hebrew Bible is a great starting point and primer for our learning approach in Classroom.

If you’re new to the Bible, we have many resources to boost your familiarity with Scripture. We recommend watching the How to Read the Bible and the Old and New Testament Overview video series and listening to the Paradigm podcast series.

Are classes eligible for academic credit?

While Classroom is designed to equip students with new tools for studying Scripture, it’s not intended to replace seminary or other biblical education programs. As a result, these classes aren’t eligible for accreditation purposes.

While we are exploring additional ways to honor the work of Classroom students, everyone who completes a course will receive a personalized digital achievement certificate.

Where can I find out about upcoming releases?

Our current focus for Classroom is class integration between the website and mobile app. Once we’ve completed this step, we plan to release three to four new classes each year.

For a list of our upcoming classes, see the Upcoming Classes section on this page.

Is there a difference between classes on the website and the app?

We’re in the process of adding classes from the website to the app, so both platforms will eventually feature the same classes. Classes in the app are redesigned to be more mobile-friendly, but the content is the same as the website classes.

Does my Classroom activity sync between the app and the website?

Classes in the app are part of a new mobile-friendly redesign for Classroom. This feature is currently in beta testing as we finish building an integrated experience between the website and the app.

At this time, class activity is not synced between the website and app version of a class. Session progress, student notes, and written responses are only available on the same platform initially used for the class.

We’re developing a feature to share activity between the two platforms. Once finalized, your progress will sync between the app and website, allowing you to use either platform and seamlessly pick up where you left off.

Can I download class videos to watch offline?

Classes are not currently available for offline use, but we may add a download option in the future.

Can I be a student in a Classroom filming?

Students for all scheduled filmings have been selected. But you can stay in the loop on any future in-person student opportunities by joining our Classroom email list here.
