A Prayer on the Hillside
Jesus gave us a simple prayer to pray every day. To help us pray the prayer, we created a simple song. The song is based on BibleProject’s translation of the Lord’s Prayer, and composed by Brian Hall and Liz Vice.
Download the song for free, but don’t stop there! We’d love to hear you sing the Lord’s Prayer too. Record and share your version with us using the form on this page, and help us build a collection of songs that help us pray the prayer of Jesus
FAQs
We’re taking song contributions from May 24th through September 17th, 2024.
Instrumentals and lyrical songs are welcome!
When submitting a song with lyrics, use Matthew 6:9-13 as your source of inspiration, whether you’re singing the text verbatim, finding new ways to rephrase the passage, or writing a song based on the prayer’s themes.
The prayer is short, and your song will probably be short too. But don’t worry too much about the length. Song files can be sent in MP3, M4A, MP4, WAV, or AAC formats, preferably using a high-quality bitrate. The size of the song file shouldn’t exceed 150MB.
Here’s a link to our full terms and conditions when submitting a song for the Lord’s Prayer. Please note: agreeing to the terms and conditions is a requirement for submitting a song.
Once you’ve uploaded the audio file, agreed to the terms and conditions, and submitted the song, volunteers from BibleProject’s team will be listening to and selecting some favorites. We will choose songs that help a broad community of Bible readers experience the Lord’s Prayer in a fresh way. We can’t wait to hear your song!
The selected songs will be available bibleproject.com/singtheprayer. If we select your song, you will receive a notification from us. If you haven’t heard from us, your song has not been selected.
Yes! Once the team has listened to all the submitted songs, we’ll compile a playlist of the ones we think you’ll enjoy the most. Think of it as a Lord’s Prayer mixtape from us to you. (Mixtapes are still a thing, right?)
